thecentre:mk eco-warrior meets Warwick Davis

Loughton Primary School student Tim won a trip to remember when he travelled on the Christmas Show Train with Harry Potter star Warwick Davis.

The seven year old is one 16 eco warriors currently working with thecentre:mk to produce a green education programme that will benefit local students.

The centre recently won a prestigious Gold Green Apple Award for its work on waste management. All of the centre’s waste is reused, recycled or recovered.
Part of the centre’s on-going work with local schools is to highlight the importance of recycling. Loughton Primary School recently collected 600 aluminium cans inside a three metre tall statue called Icarus. Students wrote their name on the cans for their chance to win a visit to the Christmas display at thecentre:mk, the largest in the country and Tim’s can was selected.

Tim also met some of the cast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs including Snow White, Prince Charming and its star and director Warwick Davis during this year’s Christmas Parade. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starts on Friday December 6th at the Milton Keynes Theatre.

Brad Curcillo, Operation Manager from thecentre:mk said: “We know how important it is to work with children to explain the importance of recycling and the benefits for the environment. Tim is one of the centre’s eco warriors so it was great to be able to give him this trip to this year’s Christmas show and meet Warwick. I’m sure this was something Tim will remember for a long time.”
