Broadcast Facilities

To make broadcasting from thecentre:mk as quick and easy as possible, we've made a number of improvements to our media hosting facilities -

If you need any more information or if you would like to arrange a site visit, please contact our PR Manager.

Please note that permission must be be sought before all filming or broadcast takes place.

Radio

Two separate ISDN lines are provided in Middleton Hall for live radio broadcasts, there is also a mixing desk and public address system if required.

Television (pre-recorded and live broadcasts)

A series of pre-laid satellite cables enable instant plug-in for TV film crews. Your programme or report can then be broadcast from Middleton Hall (main events area) without having to trail cables from the satellite vehicle into the shopping centre.  This enables you to set up trouble-free broadcasts with the minimum preparation time.

We have an assigned parking space for broadcast vehicles, where the satellite angle has been tested and provides good access in a southerly direction. Your technician just needs to connect a short cable from the vehicle to a panel on a wall box alongside the parking space. Meanwhile, inside the shopping centre (in Middleton Hall) your cameraman can connect the camera cable directly into another access panel ready for broadcast.

Technical specification of TV broadcast facilities

A comprehensive network of video audio and data tie lines are provided from the floor of Middleton Hall and the control room overlooking Middleton Hall up to the service road where the satellite vehicles park.

All connectors are terminated in conventional broadcast standard pin outs.

The large scale of the venue means that cables from the hall and pillars are routed via interconnection points within the control room and then on to the external services road connection box.

All cable connections are radial from each connection box to the master connection box on the service road.

The following connections are provided:
