Can I book tickets over the telephone?
No sorry, all tickets need to be purchased either online or in person at the entrance desk to the event. We recommend tickets are booked online in advance to avoid disappointment.
Tickets can be purchased online at any time by visiting www.thecentremk.com and visiting the events page
Do I need to print my tickets, or can I just bring them on my phone / tablet?
You don't need to print your tickets, please just bring them on your phone/tablet and present them to the staff in the Welcome Area.
Do I need a ticket for my Under 2 year old, even though they are free?
Yes please, you need a ticket for any child aged under 2 years (including new born babies) this allows us to calculate the maximum numbers of visitors per session.
Why have you capped the number of free Under 2's tickets available to 5 per session?
This is due to the number of buggies and prams that we can fit into the Experience at any one time.
Do you have toilets?
Not in the Experience. The nearest toilets are a short walk away at Door 9 near the Customer Service Desk on Silbury Arcade (Next side of the Hall) There are also baby changing and feeding facilities within the toilets.
We strongly recommend a loo stop before coming to the Gruffalo Experience!
Are there any chairs for the elderly/ pregnant mums?
Please note the Experience is meant to be enjoyed as a "stroll through the woods". However, there are a limited number of seats as you travel through the wood; please let our staff know of any requirements on arrival.
How long is the Gruffalo Experience likely to last?
The whole Gruffalo Experience, including your personal meet and greet with the Gruffalo, is likely to last around 35-40 minutes. We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes prior to your specified time slot to allow time for check in. In the welcome area we provide Gruffalo related activities for the whole family.
I haven’t heard of The Gruffalo Experience before, what is it?
The Gruffalo Experience is a new educational and fun visitor attraction which launched in March 2015. The Experience takes place in an event structure which will be transformed into a walk-through pop-up book experience. The Experience will give visitors the chance to interact with the characters from the well-loved children's story book. The Experience is produced in conjunction with Unit10 Eventive [the event organiser] and the publisher of 'The Gruffalo', Macmillan Children’s books.
Where is the Experience located?
The Gruffalo Experience takes place inside centre:mk in Middleton Hall. The experience is inside a purpose built temporary structure located outside Next, John Lewis, Lakeland and Caffe Nero.
Why do adults pay?
The Gruffalo story is a well known and much loved book enjoyed by both parents and children alike. The Gruffalo experience aims to make this a similar shared experience as well. The Experience allows parents/carers to fully engage in the activities and storytelling along with their children, hence why there is a charge in place for parents/carers choosing to attend. As with entry to other visitor attractions and entertainment venues adults are required to have a valid ticket.
Can adults attend?
While we know the story is enjoyed by both children and adults alike, adults attending without children will not be admitted to the Gruffalo Experience. No refunds will be given.
Can I drop my child off for the Experience while I go shopping?
No. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the Experience and they will be fully responsible for the child in their care.
Why should I book in advance?
We recommend that you pre-book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. The Experience is only at centre:mk until Sunday 10th April and it is expected, based on previous events, to be hugely popular with families. Although we anticipate that there will be a number of tickets available for walk-up slots on the day, we cannot guarantee this and/or the availability you require.
If I choose not to book in advance, how can I obtain a ticket?
If you choose not to book in advance, it may be possible to purchase a ticket on the day at the entrance desk to the event in Middleton Hall- however availability is not guaranteed. The pricing is the same both online and at the Ticket Desk.
Will I receive a ticket once I have booked?
Once you have placed your booking, you will receive a confirmation email which will include your downloadable tickets. Please ensure you bring either a print-out of each downloadable ticket or show the downloaded ticket images on your phone. Please show this to the Gruffalo Experience staff on arrival.
Can I change my ticket once booked?
Yes, tickets can be changed subject to availability and there is an adminstration fee of £2.50 per transaction for any ticket changes. Tickets must be changed no later than 48 hours in advance of your booking .
When should I arrive?
To allow time to get you checked in for the event Experience, we recommend that you arrive at the Experience approx. 5-10 minutes prior to your pre-booked time slot.
Is there somewhere to hold buggies?
There will be an allocated area for buggies. Please note all buggies and belongings are left at your own risk.
Is there wheelchair access?
There is full disability access.
Can we bring food and drink into the Experience?
No. We would ask that you refrain from eating and drinking inside the Experience.
Can we take photographs?
No, you will be politely asked not to take photos while inside the Experience as it may detract from the enjoyment of the activities. However at the end of the Gruffalo Experience there will be a photo opportunity.
How many people can I book for?
There is no limit to how many tickets can be booked at once, but each time slot can accommodate a maximum of 50.
Do you offer private parties?
All groups are welcome and a private show could be organised for bookings of over 30 paying persons please contact Mike@unit10eventive.com for further information.
Groups bookings, is there a discount?
Yes, for a group of 5 or more paying customers a 10% discount will automatically be applied online. This is an online offer only.
Is the Experience suitable for children with disabilities, will the staff act accordingly if necessary?
The Experience is suitable for children with disabilities, but we do recommend that you mention details of your child’s disability to the staff when you arrive, so they can adapt to your child’s needs accordingly.
Additionally, there are going to be a number of sessions to allow a little extra time for visitors with additional needs, please contact Mike@unit10eventive.com for further information.
Are all staff DBS checked?
All staff are vetted and, where appropriate, DBS checked.
The Gruffalo Experience is a group experience so guardians are required to remain with their children at all times.
