Overview:
The MK Job Show will be showcasing thousands of jobs over the weekend from both local and national companes. It is an outstanding oppotunity to meet employers face-to-face and see what they have to offer. There will also be range of free seminars and workshops at the event - please see the schedule below.
 

There will be a range of Seminars taking place throughout the event - these are FREE to attend but do have limited capacity.

Please find below a list of Seminars and Workshops that will be taking place at the upcoming MK Job Show.

All workshops and seminars are FREE but do have limited capacity. Seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Topics and times maybe subject to change.

 FRIDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER:
 11:00 – The Neighbourhood Employment Programme – Employment Support: Here to Help you Find Work – The Neighbourhood Employment Programme (NEP) provides a free employability support service to residents of Milton Keynes. The NEP Employment Support Advisors provide practical advice for people to overcome barriers to work and find solutions, as well as offering tips and pointers for locating and securing work.
11:30 – National Careers Service – Effective CV – How to create an effective CV, tailored to your job search so that it makes the most impact and helps you get that interview hightlighting your relevant achievements, skills and strengths.
12:00 – LifeSEARCH – Matching your values to those of employers; why the fit is more than your technical ability alone – Whilst your skills and experience are important, in this session you’ll learn what workplace culture is, what values are and why they should inform your choice of employer.
12:30 – Army – Opportunities in the British Army – There are 220 different job roles in the Army, from nurse to dog handler, avionics engineer to musician, farrier to Police Officer; the choice is huge. Every soldier joins an apprenticeship scheme and there are lots of other opportunities and benefits. People with leadership skills can apply to join the management team directly as an Army Officer. Most of the jobs can be done part-time too!
13:00 – The University of Bedfordshire – Routes into Healthcare – This seminar will focus on the wide range of careers within the NHS.  Hosted by the University of Bedfordshire, this seminar will explain the pathways to becoming a fully qualified Nurse, Midwife, Paramedic and Operating Department Practitioner.  The session will discuss both the degree and apprenticeship pathways.
13:30 – National Careers Service – How to Shine at an Interview – Fail to prepare and prepare to fail! Top tips and simple steps to help shine at interview, build your confidence and be prepared.
14:00 – Deloitte – Why Deloitte? – From great people and a supportive, collaborative culture to prestigious clients and unlimited career potential – Find out what Deloitte can do for you.
14:30 – National Careers Service  Using Social Media – Ever wondered about the mysteries of Social Media and Job Search? Then this is the session for you. De-mystifying Social Media and Job Hunting
15:00 – JD Wetherspoon – It’s a people thing – Have you ever considered a career in Hospitality?
