In Summer 2005, thecentre:mk's mastervision for its improvement and expansion received outline planning permission from Milton Keynes Council.

Since then, we have been working on the detailed plans to provide an enhanced shopping experience at thecentre:mk, with more stores, restaurants, car parking and better routes through the Centre to improve connections with the city centre.

These plans are currently under review by the Joint Owners of the centre, Hermes Real Estate and Prudential, as they look at how best to provide world class 21^st Century shopping in the heart of Milton Keynes.

These proposals were first presented in 2001 and given that the aspirations for Milton Keynes have evolved since then, the owners felt that they should use this opportunity to pause and review the scheme. The redevelopment of thecentre:mk is a unique opportunity to ensure that Milton Keynes is provided with the centre it requires and deserves to service its growing community in the coming years.

The development team assembled at thecentre:mk is one of the most experienced in the country - Hermes and PRUPIM have partnered on some of the most exciting shopping centres across the UK including Manchester Arndale, Westfield Derby, Liverpool One, Cribbs Causeway, Festival Place in Basingstoke and Highcross Leicester.

The review is intended to make best use of the experience within the team to ensure the shopping experience delivered for Milton Keynes will be one of the best in Europe.
