thecentre:mk is at the forefront of community projects and prides itself on its community engagement. From supporting the MK Dons with sponsorship to getting involved in city clean-ups, initiating apprenticeship schemes and raising money for charity.

Local Community Initiatives

  • thecentre:mk supports the Milton Keynes Council and other local businesses in regular Spring Cleans. This ongoing initiative is aimed at upgrading the city centre and instilling pride in the area.
  • Staff at Countec EBP, the Education Business Partnership for Milton Keynes, celebrated new kitchen facilities courtesy of thecentre:mk.
  • thecentre:mk Superheroes took part in a series of Dragon Boat races and a rally to Timbuktu in order to raise money for local charities throughout 2008. The Timbuktu rally riased over £14,000 for MK Young Carers with the money going towards providing the holiday of a lifetime to 10 local young carers.

Flag Days

The Wishing Pool

 

 

The Wishing Pool is a central feature to the annual Christmas Show in Middleton Hall and is used by thecentre:mk to raise money for local charity organisations and community groups. Since 1985 over £342,000 has been raised and distributed throughout projects that benefit the local community. Some of the groups that have been beneficiaries over previous years include GEMK, Age Concern Milton Keynes, MK Reader Service, MK Wildlife Trust, MK Community Cardiac Group, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Calvert Trust, St Tiggywinkles and in 2008 - MK SNAP
